油烟机

Just bought the house for one year, the previous owner did not have 油烟机. since we never use extremely high temperature, so just use the microwave oil filter. today I feel the cooking smell is so strong. 油烟机 will help and make the smell disappear ? how good 油烟机 can protect the house ? if 油烟机 really help, I will buy it shortly. if not that much, we have much other home projects, so I will delay this one. thanks a lot for your input.
