I suggest that he removes the judgemental statements, instead, just describes his experiences and feelings. For example, start with:
When I arrived in ** in 2009, I had been stereotyped as a "typical" Asian, many thought that since I was Asian, I was a genius. (Give another example). (Tell maybe the fact people there don't often see Asians, etc.)
The point is, describe the facts, let the reader draw the conclusions. Avoid introduce the negative judgements yourself.
