在孩子大学专业上，还是给孩子一些自由

 

第一代移民因太多的原因，眼界有限，给孩子的建议也会有限的。让孩子去探索了解，让他们自己决定更好一些。家长只要学会慢慢把责任移交给孩子就可以了。

 

我女儿的前两年也是在专业选择上徘徊。她在大学里从教授到学姐那里学了很多东西，象大教授建议她：“女孩子别去华尔街”；“我们学校的art history毕业生占了两大拍卖行的半边天”，到“我们这里的CS毕业生都能找到工作”等等。而我在她上学时唯一的嘱咐就是爸爸妈妈是没有能力负责你大学后的费用的，你想好了后面的路，找自己喜欢的专业。

 

现在的大学很容易读双学位。孩子有兴趣的专业找工作难，可以鼓励孩子修双学位，一个为饭碗，一个为个人修养。这样对孩子今后的发展会更好，也能激发孩子的兴趣，父母何乐而不为呢？

 

真的，学作弱势父母不难的。
