Parents can do the community service volunteer job with kids, such as science museum, red cross, local leadership associateion since this kid does not have that much friends to hang along with, in order to help him to get out of the house, this maybe a way that parents can involve in the kids activities(he is 14 yrs) and share the time and experience with his/her son, he can learn the social skills and take the responsibilites from the volunteer jobs, it is hard, but it is a possible way.
