should kid take ssat in Nov 10th or Dec 8th?

my girl is applying for private high school in east coast.  she has been studying ssat but not feel ready yet.  her practice score is around 750 to 780 but she need more time for verbs.  now we have to decide whether to take the test on Nov10th or Dec 8th.   my questions are 1) is it too late to take the sset in Dec 8th ? 2) if she take the Nov one and the result is not ideal can she retake in Dec and submit both and if so dose the school will only consider the the best scores?  appreciate if any parents who have experience can help us out here.  thanks.
