教孩子的环保意思最重要的其实是让他们认识到环境的美好

捡几个易拉灌真的很容易，但save不了环境。看美国人的平均能量消耗就知道他们比一个贫穷国家的人对环境的损害大、得多。

我喜欢带孩子野外玩，从钓鱼到hike,划船，野餐等等，我喜欢让孩子懂得大自然的美好。你看野生的鱼多好吃，野生的荠菜多美味。这些是大自然赐给我们的。自然界能形成一种平衡，只要人不过分索取，这种平衡是不会打破的。在当今环境面临的问题里，大多是人为了追求更高档的生活水准而造成的污染，酸雨，农药等等，才会真正造成灾难性后果。所以，推崇所谓的“低碳”生活才是大格局。这样的教育会真的让孩子知道环境保护的重要。我钓鱼是就经常和儿子谈汞污染，从汞的来源，在鱼里面是如何累积等等，让他知道人类的活动是怎么污染鱼类，最后转到人体里的，影响人类自己的。

昨天我家邻居过来，说看我们种了这么多年菜，她今年也挖了一个garden,种了几棵西红柿青椒。西红柿还行，可青椒就差远了，她问我是这么保证好收成的。我给她看了我用的化肥。她大惊失色：This is not organic！我告诉她、植物生长需要的这些肥料其实也是以这种chemical形似来供应的。在植物生产的关键期，就象孩子的成长期，你要保证足够的营养它们才能长得好。organic的往往是均匀供应养分，难达到这样的要求。既然是自己吃的，我会挑标明了是水果蔬菜用的肥料。在植物生长的关键时节我会适当加一些。这样我就保证了我的好收成，不会浪费了无穷多的水，人力后还少有收成。

保护环境不仅仅是表面文章。我也会捡别人留在钓鱼点上的塑料瓶易拉罐。我也希望下次我说我家夏天的温度设在78-80度，冬天温度设在62-65度的时候，没人嘲笑我省钱。:).
