you said 中国很普通学生 >>> US 尖子学生

So I mention this US 尖子学生 and yourb kid as 中国很普通学生 study in US (?).

 Then I suppose your kid could get 2400 at 5th or 4th grade if your kid is a Chinese 尖子学生.

I do know the kids from china's top schools got in top major in science ( like top 5 in world ) no exception, they couldn't pass the exam in first year and had to transfer to economy or bussiness ( but not the ones finished HS in US ). They do fine in this two major. but, do you know how many kids major in those two and English: 65%. Very clearly their problem is not language because in those two majors need better English than science. only 15 - 20% kids major in science and engineer. Other 15 - 20% kids major in so called soft science.
