Great to read your post. Same question

I asked others. My friend's son now in 9th grade rating>1900. He is hesitating whether should push further to get 2000. It is almost impossible to get 2200 w/o affecting gpa. Do you think rating at 2000 will be helpful for his application to Univ? My son is still young and very good at chess; but clearly he is not a genius. We just do not know to what level he needs to get that will be helpful to get into good schools. Thanks!
