With pre-approval and taking class with approved place, the grade would be transfered back to school, you don't need to take placement tests, but you lose one period, because our school district has the maximum 7 periods per school year, means you will take higher level math class, but can only take 6 courses now(lose one elective).
Some kids just study during the summer, pass the placement test, then take higher level math classes. They still can take up to 7 classes.
This is only for our school district. Every district has slight difference.
