No. My son's dentist does X-ray every 18~24 months.

He said the stardard is every 12 months.  He mentioned that it took about 5~6 months from a decay happening to actually shown in x-ray.  It also depends on kid, I guess.

X-ray is harmful.  But if used the rarely, still should do it.
