Deferred should have the same chance as regular applicants to be accepted if not higher.  admission officer just want to compare derferred to the regular round applicants.  It thus depends on how conservative when they do EA/ED.  Remember, a large percentage of spaces were taken by sports recruitment and legacies during EA/ED round.
