University of Chicago - Most academically challenged of the 3! If he/she is a real scholar then go for it!
Duke University - Most fun school of the 3! Bautiful campus and lots of fun things to do! Great medical school!
Washington University in St. Louis - Pretends to be the most selective school but doesn't deserve the high rank IMHO! Great medical school and nice college. Pre-med competetion is tough like Johns Hopkins!
My personal choice overall: 1. Chicago; 2. Duke; 3. WashU.
Chicago campus is not very good but city is in North. Depending on where he/she grows up, he/she may want to experience someting different. Since Northeast is the culture center, many Northeasterners treat Chicago/Northwastern as back up for ivy schools. Winter is brutal though. Duke has best weather so a lot of outdoor activities.
