Many of you probably already know this. A DVD player will typically play only disks from one of the 6 regions. For example, most of the DVD disks brought from China will not play in a region #1 DVD player purchased in US.
Those high end DVD players are hard wired but the low end mass produced ones are typical controlled by a software code. Thus many have tried to hack into the operating system of the player to allow the player to play disks from all the region.
