1.   Grands sound better in bigger rooms; (also remember that kids will not focus on practice if the TV is on).

3.   I did it once.  Sounded bad and got it moved out in a hurry;

4.   Have the left side (the straight side and where hinges of top lid are) against the wall or corner of the room.  Thus, when you open the lid, the sound projects to the open the of the room, instead of bouncing between the wall(s) and the lid.

6.   Agree with 又当爹来又当妈, 避免阳光直射，正对空调暖气出风口。 Plus, not too close to an aquarium.

7.   Also, if it is an older house, which often has lower wall-insulation efficiency, keep greater distance between the piano and out-side wall.  Change of temperature/humidity effects the tuning.

8.   If it's hardwood floor, consider having an area rug under the piano or the sound might be too harsh/loud to sensitive ears of the younger kids.

9.   Don't have the player face the window, or it would be difficult to read the music (score).
