are you sure everything started to change from the car ride?

guess it does not really matter now... but from what you described, this teacher is extremly sensitive. if your daughter will stay in her class, probably setup a time and talk with her, even you sense she might be lying, still try to play along. But be more careful from now on, and check with her periodically. It is hard to have a teacher that you don't like, so try to find the part you do like about her. We all meet various teachers along the way, have to learn how to deal with them and remember your daughter is watching you too.
