How to improve kid's writing skill?

My son is in 3rd grade. His writing is very poor. When teacher asked him to write some comments after read a book, he will write "it's a good book..." something like that.

How can we improve his writing skill? I checked Kumon, they only have reading and math, right? Will this reading class help his writing? Any other class or online class, workbook... we can use? Thanks.
