about balance sleep, ECs and academic

I do not have data to argue with you on your first two points. Both our children did XC at HS. And they do a ton of EC.

Both of them took at least 5 AP plus other required courses at 11th and 12th grade. Between them, they got one B and all As. DS got that B in 10th grade while having a part time job.

They did rarely sleep before 11:30 pm. However, it was because they were on the phone with their friends or going out for movies etc. They do most of their school works at school and finish the rest of at home using probably 1 hour. Never heard them complaint about too much work.

Thinking long term, if the student works that hard at HS, what are they going to do at a top tier university?Especially some of those quarter system university.
