Girls are usually more well-around and pay more attention to GPA and EC and boys are usually more outstanding in some areas. Unfortunately, Ivy schools put more weights on what the girls are good at. If you look at the highly competitiev tournaments, the best performers are usually boys. Average does not mean much here.

Aso culture thing: white girls are not as aggressive as Asian girls to get to top colleges. Asian girls are compete with white girls.
