The most important of all is to let kids to know who they are, accept who they and be who they are. If they are 'nerdy', there's nothing wrong about it. If they have good social skills, it will show up one way or another.
The pressure to "confirm" or "conform" to any kind of stereo type is not going to help anything. Asians in general have different cultures and their behavior, life style, may be different then another race. Accept it the same way you accept the look is different! If you don't feel your kids missing some characters due to lacking of skills in rap for example, then stop compare them based on being Asian or Chinese!
