what is "纪律"? thoughts after reading 四口之家's post

I have a 6 and half years old boy in the K class. From talking with his teacher, I realize that "纪律" here is not only related with if kid listens to teacher. Controlling your actions, having sense of other's existing around you, behaving properly in public places, having manners are all "纪律". All of these are part of EQ. In China, a kid can be well liked and spoiled by teachers in school just because he is very smart academically. Here, teachers love kids who are "well-round". If we do not pay attention when teacher complains to us that kid has "纪律“problem, kids will have tough time as they grow older in school.
