Preschool teacher said we should speak more English to 3 yr old

daughter. She said it's been two months and my daughter still can't express herself in English so we should speak English to her at home. I'm not happy about this. What do you think? To me she's picked a lot of English. She knows the alphabet and can identify things in English but she uses a combination of Chinese and English to express herself except really simple English. Next week is her birthday. I think the teacher is too picky. My other son went to her class before but he was so advanced in English and she never complained anyting about him. However, my daughter is different from my son. She's smart in other ways and she's her daddy's girl and has similar temperment like him which is not quite agreeable for others. What do you think? Why do I have to talk to her in English and then spend thousands of dollars sening her to Chinese school to learn Chinese? I think it's the teacher's job. She just doesn't like the extra effort and patience she has to give to my cutie pie. Am I too protective and narrow minded?
