回复:No one said otherwise-美国的六大战略优势产业依然傲视全球,无人匹敌,经济危机基本没有削弱这些产业

No one said America is not still the # one. It is the Western press that are making all kinds of unrealistic predictions about China surpassing US.

But some of your examples you gave in the IT industry about America are probally bad examples: DELL, HP are nothing special except they are big. INTC & AAPL are a lot more important than DELL & HP. I am sure if you have a good understanding of the IT & high tech industries, you would agree. Ebay is not good example either. AMZN is a better one. Google is a lot more important than MSFT, especially in 5-10 years.

Defence industry- no question there.

Education can be a big potential problem in America. From Grade 1 to 12, US lags most ohter industrial countries. The higher education was the area US has the most advantage, but that advantage is diminishing because of the new immigration policy, lack of funding, lack of opportunities for smart foreign students.

Also the world is changing & what has been key industires in the past & at the present may not be as important in the future. For example, in transportation people may depend on both air & rail. In this field of rail, China is already showing sign of leadership in super fast train transportation. That is why India, US are interested in China's fast train.

Conclusion- US is still the # one, but that position will have to be shared with Europe, China, Japan, & maybe India in the next 10 to 30 years.

I agree with you on every point. China, however, is uncertain in -geneeagle- 给 geneeagle 发送悄悄话 geneeagle 的博客首页 (0 bytes) () 11/21/2009 postreply 17:26:52
