life you are talking about? (maybe a little easier than in China.)
Actually I feel here in US it is easier for girls if they do not want to be different in terms of their careers. The stereotype for female is so strong here, a lot of female students (middle school) do not think they are smart enough to be engineers or they think boys will not be interested in bright girls. Engineering schools really have a hard time to get female students.
