You misunderstood my point

What I said was that "if" your child is already 99%, you don't need to push for high scores. If you recall, there was a parent whose kid scores a 2240 on SAT and want the poor child to take it one more time.

My point is that pushing to get perfect GPA and already good score is wrong way to go. If a child's GPA is 3.2 and SAT of 1800, some help may be needed. I have not idea how to deal with that.
