If he feels frustrated then slow it down, I don’t think teacher would blame him or you because of it.
My daughter is 4 years old, she plays both violin and piano. She spends 45mins on each daily.
Whenever she started a new song, it is hard but after couple days, she feels comfortable.
If your kid is capable I think the harder the better.
