There are motor tics and vocal tics. Different body parts can be involved. Symptoms come and go - each episode can last from several weeks to several months. After it resolves, it will come back again after several months or even years. No medication is needed unless it is really severe. Children's psychologist may help. They will teach your kid how to relax and how to manage anger, anxiety and stress. Teachers and parents should create a relaxed environment for the kid - no pressure, no blaming, lower your expectation. Let your kid have as much fun at home as possible.
