Thanks for the book list.

My daughter started to read by herself when she was about 4 and half. She started on HOP (hooked on phonics) when she was about 3 and half, and finished the whole program in less than a year, and that helped her a great deal with her Englsih, not just reading. Before she started HOP at her daycare center, she knew very little English, because we preferred her to learn English from the native speakers. (For people who have younger kids, I highly recommend HOP.) Before she first started to read by herself, I also taught her how to use dictionary.

My daughter is very competitive. She reads for fun, as well as the points. And I don't know it is a good thing or not.
