Heaven gave her to us when I was still a graduate student. We really never gave her much in terms of material things.
她现在是高中senior. She is very good all around and her best character is her passion about serving the community. She started to do volenteering work when she went to junior high. As the key club president of her HS now, she has been nominated for quite a few service related scholarships, including a full ride at Duke.
Being genuient and pleasant is another strong point DD has. That year she went for audition for governor school of art and got one of the only two spots for piano. The teacher said that she is not the best players who came to the audition but DD convinced the teacher that she will gain the most.
Of course, she is a good student with a 4.0 GPA (UW), will have completed 11 AP at HS graduation, and her standard test scores are decent, with 800 for SAT II Math II and Physics.
She has also a very wide interests outside the classroom. She ran XC because she likes the challenge. She was the captain of state first team in quiz bowl, placed at top for state math, and science olympiad (three gold and one silver).
She also won the second place in the National Spanish exam. Too bad the second year she took away the ranking but award everyone at 95%tile a gold. With her HS friend, she went to Spain for 4 weeks last summer. They made all the travel arrangements themself.
As of right now, her passion is about saving the world - w/o considering the money aspect. Instead of going into premed, law or business, she wants to do environmental science as a major.
I am very pound of my great daughter.
