I wouldn't go to a hospital if it were just a minor cut. The problem is that Canada does not have enough doctors. A lot of them went to US for a better pay. My eye doctor is from Alberta, for example.
BTW, the next day I flew back to US. It was late in the day and I went to the hospital to get my foot checked. They have after hour care that you just drop by if it is after 6:00pm. It is not just for emergency and I waited for only 20 minutes. The only thing is that I had to pay a doubled co-pay. But when I am in pain I'd rather pay more to be treated right away.
A lot of people critisize US health care. I agree it can be expensive but the service is definitely first class. Even my hu*****and, who is a proud Canadian, agrees with me.
