There was riot on 3.14. However was there riot on 3.10 when demonstration started? We don't know because no outside medias allowed! All these awkward situation is caused by the media control policy by government. It's time to change.
No doubt that there are manipulation of visual material by CNN and other western medias and it is delibrate. However they still report that it is "riot" and "demonstration" and military/police presense, which is still fact. And having military/police presense is not something government need to worry as far as no lethal weapon involved. Other country would do the same under similar circumstance. However what medias, and people, are concerned is the fate of demonstrators who were not involved in violence. That's part they and we don't get to see due to controlled media.
Look, as a Chinese, no one feels comfortable under such circumstance where people of whole world point finger at government and condemn if brutal force is used. I understand our folks care the image of Chinese. But regardless one still has to resort to truth and facts and be realistic. These days I read quite a lot of folks wrote and quite some of them are way way off.
There is one more thing I'd like to add. Loving a country does not mean one cannot criticize its government. They are two different thing. Don't mix them together. There are so many aspects that Chinese government can do much much better, just like any other governments.
