Agree with all your posts above. We habitually blamed Braun (Le De) for the loss of 根据地. It was partly true. It was Zhou who accepted Braun's wrong advice. Militarily Zhou was responsible and Chang Wen-tien and Bo Pu were politically responsible for the loss of Central Soviet Regions. After all Braun was only a adviser from the Communist International. If Zhou was strong, he could have objected Braun as he did later on.
