First, ask the collection agent how and when, and why you own the money. Most of time, they will not provide the details and drop the collection request back to the dental office.
If they provide the details, then bargain with the dental office, especially they did not send you any bills before, that made you lost the claim window from the insurance company.
If all not working, you can choose the small claim court, depending on your time.
