My friend, you must just arrive

here. Remember this is US not China. Nobody, even your parents, if you r old enough, has the right to check your bag. Not even a policeman w/o proper procedure. You need to learn to protect yourself here. let others check your bag w/o any police officer present? Come on! what if they put some drug in your bag, and say you are a drug dealer. Do you have witness to say no at that time? Remember, here is USA. They can stop you, and ask you. You need to learn to protect yourself. DO NEVER EVER LET ANYBODY check your bag without any officer present. Begging others, being nice to others under this situation usually means that you are guilty. In the court. That is very different from in China. Well, just my advice.

Also i have heard this kind of things several times. I agree it is rare, but IT DOES happen. If it does not happen to you, you are lucky, but please do not think it would not happen to others.
