The connection all of a sudden changed from unbearably bad to exceptionally good --- all at once after the switch of the ownership. So I figure those ntct1 dudes were a bunch of idiots.
However, recently, strange things start happening, esp. when approaching weekends:
example 1: today, 2 minutes before now, the ping status I got from pinging yahoo.com is this:
_________________________________________
Ping statistics for 66.94.234.13:
Packets: Sent = 380, Received = 120, Lost = 260 (68% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 74ms, Maximum = 269ms, Average = 111ms

Under which, I could not even normally receive my emails.
Then all of the sudden, it turned back to wonderful status like this:
__________________________________________
Ping statistics for 216.109.112.135:
Packets: Sent = 15, Received = 15, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 8ms, Maximum = 9ms, Average = 8ms

Out from nowhere.
During the nasty period, I could not view any websites either, it was extremely laggy. and most of the time, not even connected (... cannot display the webpage).
Example 2: last weekend, for the entire weekend, I could not receive or send any emails. Yet, I can mostly view websites normally. My email is using the account server provided by Nu Vision.
Example 3: a few weekends before, there is one Saturday, I could not receive or send any emails. (websites normal), but there was some1 who picked up my call and after 3 hours or so, the mail server went back to normal.
Example 4: as you guys all saw when playing BF2, sometimes I have dramatically good ping status, but sometimes, it is completely unplayable. And the timing is totally (or seems) random.
Question: is this my provider's problem or my local end problem?
Could it be my machine's virus? Or could it be the router being too old and not functioning well? (I have a router, used for about 2 years now)
Thanks a lot!
