Anybody knows the PIP program?

My boy couldn't stay focus in his class and his handwriting is terrible. But he got 99% in Math and 98% in English.
Any comment regarding his teacher's E-mail? He doesn't want to go to PIP at all. He begged me not let him go.

The PIP program is generally designed to help kids develop strategies that help them with impulse control and staying focused at school. I think XXX might benefit from the program. As part of the program, XXX would meet with the PIP teacher once a week for a half hour, so he wouldn't miss much class time. XXX is a bright kid who does very well academically. He can continue to improve with his focus and making sure that the work that he completes in neat. I think the PIP program will help in this regard
