Should I have 2nd child?

I'm 40 now, have a daugter 9 year-old. When I came USA, I was 33. These years, spent most of my time to continue my career. Now, I'm thinking about 2nd child,

1. as every one knows, a few years later I will not be able to have a baby. This really scrares me (honestly, never thought about this before).

2. friends around me all have two or three kids. Some of them have the 2nd kid when the older kid was 10 or older.

3. Is it a good thing for my daughter to have a brother or sister who can stay with her later? Not sure about this.
