Curious, why so many people love UGG?

I saw the post discussing Faye Wang's boots, guessing if they are UGG...
Also saw sisters suggesting UGG cuff chestnut to others.

I personally think that kind of boots looks a bit dull...
I hope I am not offensive. Just want to know, what do you see in these boots? story? brand name? or you really like the look?
