as for the unification war, all PRC had to do is to let those

politicians escape outside (to prevent them from fanning more troubles staying inside Taiwan and it will cause massive morale loss to the military and civilian population of Taiwan if publicaly announce that they had fled) then kill resisting military commanders/politicians in small strikes. I rather this happen than a devastating war as well. To me, this is the best scenario in case a war did happen between PRC and ROC.
