You probably want to call 3 credit bureaus to put

"alert" on your file, i.e., whenever there is application for credit card/loan and etc., they will call you before approval (there might be other actions). You also want to get your credit report to make sure nothing happened yet.

At the same time, I think the likelihood the salesperson will do anything bad is low. Still, better safe than sorry.
