S&P analyst Kyle Loughlin said it expects 2007 to be another good year for commodity chemicals despite some capacity additions and the forecast for slower growth. Specialty chemicals, though, may be under more pressure due to weakening demand from the housing and automotive industries.



Goldman Sachs analyst Edlain Rodriguez ：“Although we believe that 2007 and 2008 will provide reasonable profitability for commodity chemical producers and the stocks can move on short-term pricing reversal or M&A activity, we are less sanguine about prospects for medium-term stock performance,” Rodriguez wrote that he remained more positive, however, about the prospects for the specialty and hybrid chemical companies
