Here is my feeling....

I go back to China twice a year and buy tens millions $ stuff a year from China... My feeling is that China is getting batter and batter...without mentioning super fast city growing...
For daily life, it is way more convinence than here... vegetabels are fresh and cheap... large grocery stores are nice and clean. Some of them even have shuttle bus for people go to the store. My old folks never have problems with green painted cucumbers. And they never want to stay more than 3 month in here.
You can always find a nice new restaurant to enjoy Chinese food any where... And planty bars and tea housees to meet people... You can have activites almost 24/7 in China.
When you are tired... you can always to enjoy some good services including foot massage or nice body massage without costing your arms and legs like you do here.
My friends in China take vocations everywhere... in the country or aboard.
If you use microscope to look at China, you can always find something bad or experience dirty business if you get really really cheap...
