One word: Money!

2nd rated magazines like Motortrend, IMHO, typically sells out their review in lieu of ad dollars.

Like you, I've only driven the older version G35 sedan with 6MT. It was not even close to a Bimmer 3, even though to be fair, Infiniti G35 should probably have been compared to the 5 series because of its size. The older E36 3-series is much more tossable and BMW's inline-6 is matched.

Having said this, driving (as opposed to gas and steer like a grandma) is a total experience. It's hard to measure like no one chooses a wife by just measuring the size of the bust.

On second thought, BMW isn't a wife, it's a mistress. It's supposed to be costly. 呵呵。
