I don't have any clear idea to answer your question.
But I know some ABC have studied at chinese school
for years (even 5th, 6th ...), but their real level
are not that high.

I bought a chinese 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade book from china. I think the level a bit higher than Ma Li
Ping's book.
