When he was little, he hates even just a bit water on his face, not mention swimming. When he was in preschool, we tried to let him learn swim and he cried very hard and refuse. We actually wait until he was in first grade to go to YMCA. First class he was very nervous, then my hu*****and accompany him swim after class for several times and he gained confidence him self. The coach was very nice too. Once he learned how to get breath during swim, his swim skill flied. Now he is swim so fast. Last year he was participate in a county competition and got third place. It is not perfect. But we are so happy because he changed from water phobia to a swimmer. My suggestion to you is to don't rush, it will be her time sooner or later.
