for your question, my answer is probably yes---to some people. i am still studying at a US top public univ, and my fellow graduate students are really really smart persons, and also easygoing, determined, hardworking, but F-word is often heard in their conversation. So at least from this case, i cannot relate their conversational style with and deficiency in character or personality.
