We received the newspaper from our county yesterday. In this issue, they talked about drug. And there are some pictures of kids who are 12 to 16 years old. The "before drug" pictures are every nice, the "after drug pictures" are very ugly. Those kids look like "ghosts" to me. There was a girl who started to use drug at 12 years old. she died when she turned 15 years old. I was so astonished! How come a 12 years old girl addicted to drugs!
The thing is my 5 years old saw the pictures as well and kept asking me why people look like that way. I just told her that those people were cheated by strangers. The strangers gave them some thing looks good (like candy) but are very harmful. It called drugs. It can kill people slowly.
What else can I explain to my 5 years old? I feel it is uneasy to raise a kid in US for the first time...
