should I try MCAD, MCSD...

Graduated with MS CS from US. Worked as sw eng. for several years now but never thought of taking one. Today I was talking to an admin fellow and he is planning take some as the company pays for the test fees. Is there any extra point taking it for a SW developer? thanks!
