You mean at 1911, the last year of 清?

清 lost wars to Russia, and 140 million square kilometers land. Then lost war to Japan in northeast. Then lost war to a bunch of west countries. They even took over China's capital. You say: "今天中国在世界的地位,各方面排名,不比清朝强."???

GMD lost half of China at 1940s.

In last 150 years (1850-2006), 清 was going down at the first 60 years (1850-1910), GMD was going down next 40 years (1911-1949), then we are start to going up (1949-2006).

We still have a long long way to go, but we are going UP. Not like 100 years ago, we were going DOWN.
