1. In the early 1980s, Chinese designed and built a computer known as "银河机". It is so named because the number of computations it can perform per second is equal to the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy. It was supposed to be among the fastest computers in the world at its time. So, the Chinese computer industry was supposed to be at the forefront more than 20 years ago.
But I do not think many people can remember this computer today.
By the way, the Milky Way Galaxy contains 100 billion stars. There is no possibility that a computer in the early 1980s can perform 100 billion operations per second. In other words, those incompetant "computer experts" even cannot name a computer correctly.
2. A few years ago, China developed a "龙芯". Another big fuss that went nowhere.
3. Now, there is a "汉芯". Assuming this chip actually exist (not purchased from a vendor), my bet is that it will just be another fuss.

A biggest problem for 银河 was the quality of its software.
