turn key on and depress brake pedal you should hear a click sound emiting out close to the gear select lever then you can move the lever out of P. if no sound there must be some trouble on the interlock solenoid control circuit that's why you couldn't shift out of P. check the switch on brake pedal bracket, harness, connectors and the solenoid close to the shift lever under the central console board. if the battery power feeds to the solenoid when depress bk pedal and no click heard, the solenoid fail to work. replace it.
